Reunion Announcement from John Fowler

Sophia and 'Pealy' Fowler

Dear All,

Margaret and I and the members of our immediate family invite all descendants of Clarence (Pealy) and Sophia Fowler, whether by blood, marriage or other close relationship, to the family home in Elk Point, South Dakota, for a Fowler Family Reunion during the period July 4 through 7, 2012.

This will be the first Family Reunion since about 90 of us gathered for such an event in 2000.  We hope that all of you can make it and urge you to make travel arrangements soon and let us know your plans.  Not all invitees have e-mail addresses, so we will be calling or writing some to communicate this invitation.  Please let us know the names and addresses of those whom you know are missing from the above addressee list.

Any questions may be addressed to Margaret, John, Jr., Edward, Ann or me.  Margaret and I are living in Charlottesville, Virginia, most of the time and can be reached at (434) 202-0533, or at 2906 Green Meadows Lane, Charlottesville, VA  22901, as well as my e-mail address or Margaret's, which is mkfowler5@aol.com. We will probably be in Elk Point from about June 28 to July 11, so those extending their stay into the weekends will have guides-in-residence.

We can probably also be of assistance in suggesting accommodations in Elk Point, Vermillion or Sioux City.  The Sioux Falls airport is only about twenty minutes further from Elk Point than the Sioux City airport and hosts more airlines and flights.  The much larger Omaha airport is only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Elk Point and has less expensive flights and car rentals.

Looking forward to seeing you in July,    "Uncle John"

  2. Megan (Chaussee) Mason and her husband, Marcus Mason will be attending! I'm hoping that a tennis tournament is still in the cards. I remember an attempt at prior reunions to reproduce some famous Fowler fudge- will anyone be trying that again?
